I have a new pan. An All Clad. My first. A 3 qt Simmer-Saute', copper core. She's gorgeous and I'm giddy. I've wanted something from this line for a long time, but it's rather expensive. I had a few gift certificates piled up from my Sis-in-Law from W.S. and found out they had this piece on sale. I took the plunge. It's been sitting on my counter, in the box, for 5 days. I've opened it a few times to look at it, show it off to a friend who's stopped by and then put it back in the box.
I put her on for our maiden voyage this afternoon. I caramelized onions for Girls' Night Flatbread Pizzas and then made Creamy Chicken & Wild Rice Soup for my friend Evelyn. It's lovely. The pan. The soup turned out nice, too.
I have a feeling that this won't be my last piece of All Clad copper core. It's going to be a slow process of aquisition, but I'm fully committed. I have to say, I do feel like I'm cheating on my Calphalon and Le Creuset...oh well.
I think I'll name her: Jeriann. :~)
